Providing Clean, Reliable and Affordable Wave Energy from the North Sea

Do Challenge ST. Maarten

In Feb 2018 Slow Mill placed third in the Do Challenge of ""Present Your Start Up"". An initiative of Haarlem entrepreneurs to rebuild the Dutch isle of St. Maarten after it was hit badly by hurricane Irma.

Erwin Meijboom received flowers from Valerie Vallenduuk for the third place and an invitation to visit St. Maarten on a trade mission with the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce

In march 2018 a small delegation of innovative entrepreneurs visited suffering  St. Maarten. Slow Mill discussed the challenges of reconstruction with its minister.

Slow Mill briefed a mixed community of volunteers, companies and government organizations about the Slow Mill and its ability to produce reliable power and survive the most severe hurricanes as it avoids overloads by diving under the larger waves. And how it can continue to deliver power in storms unlike wind or tidal turbines that are shut down and may be damaged.
