Wave Energy in the North Sea



The Slow Mill won the Clash of the Concepts organised by the Dutch iSea program Clash of the concepts by RWS. Seven innovative concepts were selected to pitch for a large audience in the prestigious EYE ffilm museum in Amsterdam. After a days battle of innovative ideas, the jury announced first prize winner Slow Mill.


On all energy day in Den Haag, capital of the Netherlands, new companies in the energy branch were invited to pitch their products. Major players like the CEO's of Shell and Tennet were accompanied by the ministries of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure & Environment among others to attend and address the audience, mainly on the need and urgency of transition to a cleaner and more sustainable future. Slow Mill was selected for the ffinals and awarded ffirst prize; 3500,-


The Dutch government is competing for the best innovation to make for a more sustainable future at "Ideas from Europe". During the summer, in 6 semi-ffinals, the best concepts were chosen to pitch on 7 September on the iconic afsluitdijk for the main policy makers, ministers and administrators of the Netherlands to be selected for the international competition in Estonia. 

For one of those semi-ffinals, "Energy from Water" in the Making Waves competition, 9 Dutch companies were selected and 6 of them pitched on 20 June in the Seinwezen in Haarlem. 

Slow Mill won the public vote with 33%.
